Suo-motu Cognizance- Banishree Scholarship

The SCPD took Suo-motu cognizance on a news item which disclosed that applications for Banishree Scholarship of 164 students of Odagaon Block of District Nayagarh had been kept pending though the academic year has passed. On the records of SCPD a total number of 151 students with disabilities were provided with Banishree Scholarship and the A/C payee cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries in the presence of ABDO, SEO, BRCC and BRT.

Shri Bishnu Swain of vill-Eranch, Niali, Cuttack, a person with 95% loco-motor disability alleged on 27.11.2013 that though he submitted an application in the prescribed form to the Collector, Cuttack in the grievance cell on 24.12.2011, he has not been sanctioned disability pension or a house under IAY.
